Welcome Back! Wellbeing 2025
Welcome back St. Joseph’s Community! It has been so wonderful to see so many happy returning faces and get to know some of our new families joining us in 2025.
As it’s the start of a new school year we thought it would be timely to reintroduce ourselves!
Kye Roberts- Wellbeing Officer-
Hey, I'm Kye, one of our Wellbeing Officers here at St Joseph's for 2025. I'm super excited at the opportunity to continue developing meaningful relationships with the new and old students and families here at our school community. I have the privilege to run our ‘Peaceful Kids’ program this term which I am super excited about! However, I will sadly be leaving my role here at the school on March 25th, as I am moving abroad on a new adventure. I feel incredibly thankful to have met so many lovely families in our school community and have loved every minute working with our students. Until then, please feel free to come in and chat, and I look forward to working with your children for this term!
Tam Perry- Wellbeing Officer-
Hi I'm Tam, How blessed I am to work at St Joeys within our Wellbeing team! I love getting to know all the students and their families whilst building lasting relationships. Please feel free to pop your head in and say hello as our office is an open and welcoming space for all. Here's to a year of connection, care and compassion!
Apryl Sim- Wellbeing Leader-
Coming from rural South Australia in 2024, it has been so nice to be embraced by the St. Joey’s community over the last year. My job is to bring wellbeing practices into the classroom routine and support the staff and students when needed. I’m looking forward to seeing the personal growth in our students this year. Best wishes to you all.
The Wellbeing Team are looking forward to continuing our focus on self-regulation in 2025. All classes have regulation stations and regulation tools available throughout the day to support their learning. Our referral processes have been refined and Wellbeing works closely with classroom teachers to ensure all students are supported when needed. We run ‘Peaceful Kids’ each year which is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen
anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. We aim to have all students participate before they leave St. Joseph’s.
Our other support program is ‘Seasons for Growth’ offered to students who have experienced change in their family situation or loss of a loved one to help them process these experiences. This is only offered at least 6 months post the event/s and will run in Term 4 this year.
Families are encouraged to speak with their child’s classroom teacher if they have any questions or concerns about their child’s learning or social skills. The wellbeing room is always open for parents who want to pop in for a chat or who are wondering how to best support their children.
