Dear EVPS Families,

It's been a wonderful start to the year with many opportunities to build friendships and connections across the school. Please enjoy the photos and articles in this newsletter.

Meet and Greet Conference Success

This week, we hosted our Meet and Greet Conference on Tuesday, with additional conferences for part-time staff held on Monday and Thursday evenings. This was an invaluable opportunity for students and families to connect with teachers and is an important part of our commitment to fostering strong relationships and ensuring open communication from the start of the school year. There was a  fantastic turnout, with 795 bookings across classroom and specialist teachers. We appreciate everyone who attended and look forward to maintaining these strong connections throughout the year. Should you have any follow-up questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.

Sport Season begins

We are excited to announce the beginning of the interschool sports season at EVPS, and our students are already off to a great start! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship. Students who are not currently in an ISS team are attending Leisure City to experience a range of other sports. Nicole and Aaron recently arranged swimming trials for our students in order to select a swimming team for the upcoming District Swimming Event .. more about that in an upcoming newsletter.

Assemblies

Throughout the year, we will be holding both Whole School Assemblies and Cohort Assemblies, providing an opportunity to celebrate achievements, share important updates, and come together as a school community. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend these events, and details, including dates and times, will be shared via Compass. We look forward to welcoming families and celebrating the wonderful accomplishments of our students together.

The next Whole School Assembly is being held on Friday 28th February at 2.45pm.

Ramadan 27th Feb to Sat 29th March

Many of our families observe the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a period of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth.  We are mindful of the varying needs of our students and will make accommodations as necessary to ensure a supportive environment for all. We wish all our families observing Ramadan a peaceful and fulfilling month. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you require

Clean Up Australia Day

On Friday, 28th February, EVPS will participate in Clean Up Australia Day to promote environmental responsibility. Thee Clean Up Australia Day initiative is celebrating its 35th year. Students will help clean up the school grounds and be involved in classroom activities,  raising awareness about the importance of sustainability and protecting our environment.
