Visual Arts
Students from Prep to Grade Six have settled well into Visual Arts this week, showing enthusiasm and creativity in their projects. It has been wonderful to see students engaged in exploring different materials and techniques while developing their artistic skills.
This week, our Grade 6 students have been introduced to the world of Surrealism, focusing on the work of artist René Magritte. Inspired by his imaginative and thought-provoking art, they have been creating their own personalized Surrealist eye drawings, incorporating unique reflections that express their individual perspectives. The photos I’ll be sharing showcase their incredible interpretations and creativity in this project.
Additionally, some students have been so inspired by their work in the art room that they have asked for activities to continue creating at home. To encourage their enthusiasm, I have included in this article links to engaging art activities that allow them to further explore their creativity beyond the classroom.
It has been a fantastic start to the term, and I look forward to seeing students continue to grow in confidence and skill as they embark on their creative journeys!
