Lara Secondary College Swimming Carnival
Our annua Swimming Carnival took place on Monday the 10th of February, and the year 12s came in clutch with their costumes! There were trains, Borat, the Irwins with their crocodiles, fried chicken, fluoros and more.
It was an awesome day with a lot of students jumping in the pool to swim freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke, or jumping in for our novelty events and water polo to represent their house.
We also held the staff vs student relay, where Mr Skewes, Mr Ray, Ms Perkins and Mr Hackett took on the 4 houses. The Serendip students took it out, overtaking Mr Ray in the final leg! The staff relay will have to go back to training ready for 2026!
The results of the day were:
1st Place: Serendip (597 points)
2nd Place: Hovell (531 points)
3rd Place: You Yangs (408 points)
4th Place: Flinders (275 points)
Following the carnival, we have 12 students who will be attending the GSSSA Swimming Finals to represent Lara Secondary, swimming against students from other schools in the Geelong Region. Good luck to all!
