Academy Updates

Looking Forward in 2025

2025 has seen such a positive start for the Academy Movement at Lara Secondary College. We have welcomed over 20 new students to the college and over 100 students in the Academy between Cricket and Rugby. This year also see the introduction of the Cricket Academy for the first time. Brent Hodges and Tyron Norman are the Cricket Academy Coaches and Ephraim Taukafa and Jamie Richards as our Rugby Caches. 

Senior students have been training in their chosen sports as well as commencing the VET studies in sport, Aquatics and Recreation. Junior students have also been busy training and are about to commence academy units in goal setting, nutrition, leadership, and coaching. 

We look forward to bringing you further updates from the Academy as our interschool competition starts and students develop both as Athletes, Students and Leaders in our college.
