Welcome back to 2025, it has been fantastic to see the year start in such a positive manner, with students, staff and families settling back into the routine of the school year. I would like to extend a special welcome to our new Year 7 students and their families, it was terrific to meet so many of you at the BBQ last week.
Our Year 12 students kicked off their final year in the best way possible, coming together at Federation University for their commencement camp. This camp is a valuable opportunity for students to set their goals, strengthen friendships, get to know key staff and start the year with a positive mindset.
A huge thank you to our staff who dedicated their time to making this experience a success. Their support and guidance ensure that our students make the most of these opportunities, both academically and personally.
We are looking forward to hosting a parent cyber safety session on Wednesday March 5th, 5.30pm-7.00pm in 311.
The session is designed to give parents practical tools they can implement immediately, while also providing the opportunity to have any questions answered.

Student attendance at school is a priority for us in 2025 and we need your support to ensure that students are routinely at school. Students cannot learn if they are absent and their learning when they do return is disjointed and can be very challenging. Each day students are absent presents a disruption to their learning. Every day countsas we seek to supportstudents to achievetheir full potential. Frequent and extended absences also disrupt friendships and relationships and we see evidence that absences impact on the wellbeing of students as they become disconnected from their learning and their peers. If you need support getting your student/s to school, please reach out to your child’s Year Level Coordinator (YLC) to work together on a solution. In term 1 we are focusing on ensuring that all students arrive to class on time. Students who are late to class will be required to make up the time at the conclusion of the lesson.
We are egar to support parents/carers to ensure students are wearing their full school uniform. The College has added to the uniform options for students as a result of student feedback last year. We hope that this will support students to be comfortable while still meeting their responsibility to be in full uniform. Any families experiencing financial difficulty purchasing uniform should reach out to the relevant sub-school or our wellbeing team. We are committed to ensuring all students have the correct uniform and there are a number of ways to make this possible.

In 2025, we are beginning the roll out of the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework, which plays a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students at LSC. A key part of the SWPBS framework is the College-wide Positive Behaviour Expectations, which provides clear expectations related to our College values of Excellence, Respect, Commitment and Teamwork in different settings across the College. We have begun explicit teaching and unpacking of our Positive Behaviour Expectations to our students through the TLC/Pathways curriculum and will continue this throughout 2025 and beyond.
We are continuing our emphasis this year on positive recognition of engagement, behaviour and academic efforts of our students through Success Passes. So far this year, we have seen over 2000 Success Passes awarded across the College. Well done to our weekly award winners of Student and Class of the Week so far this year. We are looking forward to continuing to build on our positive recognition system across the course of 2025.
We are excited to announce that this year’s school musical will be Grease!
Our production is predicted to run from August 7th to 9th, and we would love to see you there supporting our talented students!
If you or your child has any questions, please have them email Petra Youssef as soon as possible at youssefp@larasc.com to receive further details.
Thank you for your support – we’re looking forward to an amazing show!
I would like to give a friendly reminder to please drop off students to school outside of the school gates, the carpark next to the school can be an excellent spot for this. We have experienced issues of congestion in our staff carpark. Thank you for your assistance with this.
