Year 8 Classroom Update

Welcome back to MITS and the start of Year 8 for you and your young people! 

It has been wonderful to see all the students return and settle back in so quickly. This year, our Year 8 students are supported by Olivia Vizard, Olivia Vesely, Natasha Sonsini, Kirra Bundy, and Taylor Culpepper. Together, they will help prepare each student for the next stages of their education. 

As we settle into the year, teachers have introduced a variety of activities to help students explore their new learning space at Trinity, understand the expectations for Year 8, and begin discussions about what next year will look like.

One of the favourite tasks so far has been writing. Students researched the Kimberley region and created fact sheets, producing some outstanding work!

Geography has also been a big hit. Students worked in small groups to learn about different landforms and landmarks from their chosen countries, comparing places of interest. They also created maps of their homes and important landmarks in their communities. The attention to detail in their maps was truly impressive! 

It has been fantastic getting to know all the students this term, and we look forward to sharing more of their progress in future newsletters!
