Year 7 Classroom Update

Start of our year
Year 7 has had an exciting start to the year, with plenty of opportunities to get to know each other and settle into our class routines. We’ve enjoyed a memorable excursion to the MCG, played a variety of sports, written inspiring captain speeches, and sketched impressive portraits. In science, we experimented with making oobleck, and we also watched the special movie Two Ways: The Kimberley Rock Art Legacy. It’s been a fantastic beginning, full of learning and fun experiences!
Student Voice
What has been the best part of starting at MITS 2025?
"Making new friends and more experience in learning." Jarlan
"Coming down here to Melbourne, meeting all the new people, coming to MITS." Brycen
"I like experiencing new stuff." Alex
"The fun activities we do on weekends." John
"Making new friends!" Rowena
MITS Values
We kicked off our school term by exploring the MITS school values and brainstorming ways we can embody these values in our daily lives. Jarlan, Zyianne, and Josh (pictured left to right) demonstrated great courage as they spoke in front of the class and shared their work. They spoke with clarity, confidence, and poise! It was inspiring to see them embrace the challenge, and their efforts set a great example for the rest of the class. This display of courage encourages us all to step out of our comfort zones and take pride in sharing our work.
Writer's Notebook
During Writer's Notebook, we dove into researching fascinating animal facts, pouring our creativity into producing amazing pieces of work. Denzel (Tyrannosaurus-Fax!) and John (Bronto-Saurus) were especially proud of their detailed illustrations and the rich facts they included.
