🌟 Wellbeing in Term 2 🌟

Term 2 has certainly flown by, and our students have been busy exploring what it means to live our school values every day.

We began the term with a special visit from Travis, who worked with classes during the first few weeks, delivering a range of engaging wellbeing lessons. Students enjoyed the opportunity to learn with a different face and participate in activities that supported positive relationships and emotional wellbeing. Thank you, Travis, for a wonderful start to the term!

🌈 Bringing Our School Values to Life

From Week 4 onwards, our focus shifted to exploring our school values, including our new values of Community and Growth.

Across all year levels, students investigated what each value looks like in everyday school life and how these values help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment for everyone.

Throughout the term, students explored:

💙 Community / Comunidad – understanding belonging, inclusion and how we can help everyone feel welcomed and valued.

💚 Care / Cuidado – showing empathy, kindness and respect towards ourselves, others and our environment.

💛 Curiosity / Curiosidad – asking questions, exploring new ideas and developing a love of learning.

🧡 Creativity / Creatividad – recognising that creativity is much more than art. Students discovered that creativity can be found in problem-solving, innovation, leadership, teamwork and thinking differently.

❤️ Responsibility / Responsabilidad – making positive choices, taking ownership of actions and understanding how our decisions impact others.

💜 Growth / Crecimiento – learning from challenges, persevering through difficulties and recognising that mistakes help us learn and improve.

🎨 Learning Through Action

Students did far more than simply discuss the values; they actively demonstrated them through collaborative projects, discussions, games and creative challenges.

Our Grade 1/2 students created colourful values posters and class displays, helping them identify how they can demonstrate each value through their words and actions.

Students in Grades 3–6 explored the connection between Community and Creativity by designing their own ideal spaces within our school. These projects encouraged students to think about inclusion, belonging, collaboration, and how creativity can be used to improve others' experiences.

Classes also participated in teamwork challenges, problem-solving activities, reflection tasks and collaborative discussions that encouraged students to consider how their actions contribute to a positive school community.

🌱 Growing Together

One of the strongest messages throughout the unit has been that our values do not exist separately. Community grows through Care. Creativity is strengthened by Curiosity. Responsibility supports Growth. Together, these values help us become respectful, resilient and engaged learners.

Students have contributed to a growing School Values Showcase through artwork, reflections, classroom displays and activities, demonstrating their understanding of what our values look like in action.

🎭 Looking Ahead

During Weeks 9 and 10, our Grade 3–6 students will spend part of their Wellbeing time supporting rehearsals for our upcoming production, La Música Viajera.

While this may look different from our usual lessons, the production provides a wonderful opportunity for students to continue practising many of the values we have explored throughout the term. Students will be developing confidence, resilience, teamwork, responsibility and perseverance as they rehearse, perform and support one another.

Stepping onto a stage, learning new routines, adapting to changes and working as part of a team all require courage and a growth mindset. We look forward to seeing our students shine as they bring the production to life.

Thank you to all of our students for their enthusiasm, creativity and thoughtful participation throughout Term 2. We are incredibly proud of the way they have embraced our values and helped make our school a welcoming and supportive community.

We wish all families a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to another exciting term ahead.
