Walk for Truth

Newlands Community Walk for Truth

Thursday, 25 June

Indigenous Perspectives Open Classroom | 9:00 am–11:00 am

Families and community members are warmly invited to join us for the Newlands Community Walk for Truth, taking place alongside our Indigenous Perspectives Open Classroom.

The morning will begin with classrooms open to visitors from 9:00 am. At 9:30 am, students, staff, families and community members will come together to participate in the Newlands Community Walk for Truth. Following the walk, we will gather in the quadrangle for an acknowledgement, speakers and a whole-school community photo.

The event forms part of our Cultural Week learning and builds on students' exploration of truth-telling, reconciliation and the Walk for Truth movement led by Travis Lovett.

You can learn more about the background of the event by following this link to a previous edition of our newsletter- https://newsletters.naavi.com/i/N9pa7r5/issue-15/page/9.
