School Reports

This semester, you will notice that your child's school report looks quite different. Reports have been streamlined to a single page that provides an overview of your child's achievement and progress across all curriculum areas, as shown below.

Over a number of years, the school has received consistent feedback from families that our previous reports were overly complex and lengthy. Many parents indicated that they primarily focused on the first page and the general comment, finding the remainder of the report difficult to navigate and interpret.

With the Department of Education moving towards a more consistent reporting model across Victoria from 2027 (as discussed at the Term 1 Principal Conference), the school has decided in consultation with the Education Sub Committee and School Council to begin aligning with these changes ahead of time. We believe the new format provides clearer information for families while reducing unnecessary complexity.

The streamlined reporting process has also enabled teachers to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time preparing for Parent-Teacher Interviews. This allows teachers to focus on discussing your child's learning in greater detail, supported by classroom assessments, student work samples and school-based data.

If you would like further information about your child's learning, we strongly encourage you to attend your Parent-Teacher Interview or contact your child's teacher directly.

Please note: Under normal circumstances, reports would include a personalised teacher comment. However, due to Australian Education Union industrial action relating to workload and conditions, individual comments will not be included in Semester 1 reports. We anticipate that personalised comments will return in Semester 2.

Purpose of this report

This report provides a summary of your child’s progress and achievement in key learning areas for Semester One, 2026, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0. It reflects your child’s current level of achievement and the progress they have made, rather than listing all content covered or classroom activities undertaken.

For a more detailed insight into your child’s day-to-day learning experiences, please refer to the school newsletter.

Opportunities to discuss your child’s learning in greater detail, including next steps for growth, are available during Parent Teacher Interviews.

The following table provides an explanation of the progression score in the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.

Effort and Conduct are reported using a three-point scale: Always, Sometimes, and Rarely.

Your child's achievement in this report

Effort reflects how consistently your child applies themselves to learning tasks, including their persistence, focus, independence, and willingness to challenge themselves.

Conduct reflects how your child demonstrates expected behaviours at school, including their respect for others, ability to follow instructions, and contribution to a positive learning environment.

These ratings provide an overall picture of your child’s approach to learning and behaviour across the semester

Thanks,
