What a term it has been. As we head into the mid-year break, it's worth pausing to look back at everything our students have packed into these past weeks — not just the learning that happens in every classroom every day, but the full, busy life of the College beyond it.

It has also been a term that has once again tested our resilience. Through it all, we have been incredibly proud of the way our students have shown up for one another — with care, kindness, and genuine support. That spirit doesn't show up in their reports, but it's exactly the kind of thing that makes this community what it is.

Wellness Week

Our Wellness Week brought the whole school together — lunchtime activities, a wellness assembly, the always-entertaining Lip Sync Battle, and a whole-school BBQ to round it off. It was a great reminder that looking after each other is just as important as looking after our grades.

Mental Health Education

Our Year 8 students completed their Teen Mental Health Training this term, building skills and understanding that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

College Has Got Talent

Our students dazzled us with their talents and, in doing so, raised an outstanding $2,000 for charity. A brilliant effort from everyone who performed, organised, and supported the event.

Sport

It's been a huge term on the sporting front. Our students competed in ICCES Cross Country, Athletics, Debating, Netball, Hockey, and Basketball, capping off a full summer season of sport while the winter season has hit its stride. Our GD Football program has also continued to give students another avenue to compete and connect. House afternoons brought the fun closer to home, with sport and chess giving every student a chance to represent their House.

On Stage and In Competition

Behind the scenes, rehearsals for Chicago- Teen Edition have been in full swing — I know Mrs Price and the cast can't wait to share this production with you next term. Our musicians took part in visiting music workshops, and students flexed their academic and musical muscles in the Australian History Competition and the Eisteddfod.

Beyond the Classroom

School excursions gave students extra learning opportunities beyond the school grounds, a term highlight was the Year 9 Experience in Melbourne. We were also delighted to welcome our new 2027 students to the College on Vibe Day this week, giving them a taste of life here before they join us next year.

Examinations

It was also a serious academic term, with a full week of examinations across the school and the General Achievement Test (GAT) for our Year 11 and 12 students — an important milestone as they progress through their senior years.

Looking Ahead

It has been a full, rich, and at times challenging term, and our students have met it with energy, resilience, and care for one another. Thank you to our families for your continued support — we couldn't do any of this without you.

We wish all our families a very safe, restful, and well-deserved mid-year break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 3. Ticket sales for Chicago are in full swing, with the link for this and other events found on our Key Dates page within this newsletter.
