National Week of Action: Bullying no way week!

National Week of Action- Small Acts have a big Impact!

Next Week our school will be participating in activities for the National Week of Action- Bullying No Way Week. 

The message this year is to recognise the little actions that others do to make someone's day a lot better.  Turning small moments into positive outcomes—fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across the classroom, school and community.

The students will be led by the PBIS team to engage in activities throughout the week both in the classroom and on the yard.

Please talk with your child about the importance of this week and encourage small actions at home and at school that can make someone else's day!

Social and Emotional Survey

In the coming weeks the students from Years 2-6 will be completing a social and emotional wellbeing survey. As part of our school’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for your child, the ACER SEW (Social Emotional Wellbeing) survey will be conducted later in the term.

The ACER SEW survey was developed by Professor Michael Bernard, in collaboration with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and explores 9 key aspects of students’ social and emotional wellbeing, divided across 3 key domains:

Feelings and Behaviours (i.e. levels of happiness, self-identity, behaviour and relationships)

Internal Strengths (i.e. self-awareness and self-management of social, emotional, learning and values)

External Strengths (i.e. the impact of positive influences at school, home and in the community.

The information from the survey provides feedback to continue to provide safety and wellbeing of all students within our school.

Child Safety

At all times, the ongoing safety and well-being of all children and young people will be the primary focus of care and decision-making, with particular attention paid to the most vulnerable children, including Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with a disability, children who are unable to live at home, international students, and students of diverse sexuality.

To create and maintain a safe environment and nurturing culture, CES Ltd and St Joseph's Primary School will actively and continually develop and review all policies, processes and practices, informed and responsive to legislation and evidence.
