Principal's Update

St Joseph's is a child-safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students.

Good afternoon all ...

As we move through another busy and rewarding term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on a special occasion that I was privileged to attend recently.

It was a great joy to be present at the Installation Mass for Bishop René, a truly beautiful and prayerful celebration that brought together people from across our diocese. The Mass was a wonderful expression of faith, hope and unity, and it was inspiring to witness Bishop René formally begin his ministry among us. On behalf of our St Joseph's community, I warmly welcome Bishop René and assure him of our prayers and support as he leads our diocese into the future. We look forward to walking alongside him in faith and sharing in the many opportunities that lie ahead.

Enrolments 2027

We are currently planning for the 2027 school year and have been delighted by the exceptional interest and enrolments for Foundation. A limited number of Foundation places have recently become available.

If you know of any families considering St Joseph’s for 2027, I encourage them to contact our school office as soon as possible to discuss enrolment opportunities and avoid missing out. We also have limited vacancies in some of our other year levels.

We are delighted to celebrate the excellent NAPLAN results achieved by our students this year. These outcomes are a testament to the commitment, expertise and care of our dedicated staff, as well as the hard work and perseverance of our students. While NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student achievement, these results reflect the strong foundations that have been built over years of learning across all year levels. Every teacher plays an important role in supporting our students' growth, confidence and success, and we thank them for their ongoing dedication. We are incredibly proud of our students for the effort they put into their learning each day.

Principal Leave

I will be taking leave from 21 August until the end of the term. While I am away, Mrs Chelsea Howgate will step into the role of Acting Principal, bringing her strong leadership and dedication to the school community. Chelsea will be supported by Mrs Elise Nally, who will take on the role of Acting Deputy Principal during this time.

I have every confidence in Chelsea and Elise and know that they will continue to lead our school with warmth, professionalism and a strong commitment to the wellbeing and learning of all students. I thank them both for their willingness to take on these important leadership roles

Have a wonderful fortnight everyone and I will look forward to seeing you all next term.

With warm regards,

Julie Cornwall, Acting Principal
