CURRICULUM DAY
On Monday all staff attended a day of professional learning related to a focus in this year’s Annual Implementation plan, being the Positive Classroom Management Strategy of ‘Opportunities to Respond’. These are teacher cues or questions that prompt active student participation, with the strategy helping students stay focused and learn faster. At the end of the day, staff (teachers and education support staff) worked in teams to develop an implementation plan to provide students with Opportunities to Respond.
PARENT/CARER/TEACHER CONVERSATIONS
Thank you to parents/carers who attended these conversations with Mrs Schefe, Ms Philp, Mrs Doherty and Mrs Elliott this week. Also thanks to our teachers for their time and commitment. These discussions are an important part of supporting each student's learning and wellbeing.
AEU INDUSTRIAL ACTION
As you may be aware the Australian Education Union (AEU) which includes teachers, education support staff and principal class officers, have been negotiating with the state government and Department of Education for improvements to pay and employment conditions. The AEU has called on its members to engage in a statewide 24-hour stopwork for Thursday 23rd July. This means it is highly likely that many of our staff will not be at school on Thursday and classes may not be required to attend. There will be further communication regarding next week’s industrial action, once staff absences are confirmed. In the meantime, you might want to think about alternate plans for your child/ren on Thursday.
THE GLOW SHOW
We look forward to parents/carers/visiting The Glow Show on Monday 20th July and Wednesday 22nd July from 6.00 to 7.00pm and viewing the students wonderful Artwork. During the holidays staff were at school to prepare for this event, which is looking fabulous! See information below:
As visitors enter via the office, they can collect a glow stick (one per person), then proceed through the door into the Year 6 learning space, walk through the Year 5 and 4 learning spaces, before visiting the Art room and corridor where the Artwork is on display. The front door will open at 5.50pm.
Visitor parking will not be available in the carpark.
Visitors can use the toilets located at the office only.
To help visitors to enjoy their time and know where to go, staff have given their time to be present on both nights and signage will be provided.
Visitors are permitted to take photos and videos, but only of their child and their Artwork.
Visitors are asked to not touch or pick up another child’s Artwork.
Parents/carers are responsible for the behaviour of any child with them. Everyone is expected to walk calmly around the school, and it should take 20 - 30 minutes to view the Artwork before departing via the front door.

NAPLAN
This week the NAPLAN results for the Year 3 and 5 students arrived at school. We’ll send a Compass notification out soon regarding how parents/carers can collect them.
2027 FOUNDATION ENROLMENTS
A reminder that enrolment forms for students starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027 are due to the office by Friday 31 July.
HOLIDAY WORKS
During the school holidays our toilets received a deep clean while planning continues for future upgrades. Plumbers and builders were onsite to repair several water leaks, as was a builder to install some decking. Contractors also serviced our heaters to ensure they are working properly and efficiently during these colder months.
CLASSROOM TABLES
During term 2 we were able to upgrade our year 5 classroom tables. Therefore, we have a supply of our old classroom tables which we can offer to families for free. If you would like a table or two please contact the office.
