A snapshot from the classrooms this fortnight

Kindergarten - Jacqueline Pribilovics

This week Kindergarten celebrated 100 days of school. We are so proud of how far they have come.

Year 1 - Danielle McClure and Eva Clinton

This term our focus in STEM is Earth and Space. This fortnight, Year 1 loved getting to share everything they know about the differences between day and night. They also took observations of the sky, noting how often it could change throughout the day, as well as all of the different kinds of clouds they could see. The students are so excited to learn more about Earth and Space next week.

Year 2 - Aoife Geraghty and Eva Clinton

This week in Year Two we are busy preparing for our Feast of the Assumption mass this Thursday. The students have been practising their readings and prayers, songs and even had time to make some beautiful art work for this special day. We are looking forward to seeing you all at 2.10pm to celebrate in the school church.

Year 3 - Hannah Jory & Peter Mallos

Exploring all things Robotics! During an incursion on Tuesday, Year 3 developed essential skills whilst building their robots including - cooperation, communication and negotiation.

Year 4 - Bella Abruzzese

Year 4 had the opportunity to participate in a Science Week robotics program. The children learnt about the use of robots in our world as they programmed and built their own robots! They were able to code all kinds of sound effects, and even got their robots to do some tricks like jumping and twirling.

Stage 3 - Anna Kelly & Laura Courtenay

In Year 5, we really enjoy the library and reading in our comfy spaces, especially this week as we are looking forward to a visit from an author that wrote books such as, The Stroogle and Pie Rats. His name is Dr Cameron Stelzer and he will be visiting St Margaret Mary’s on Thursday. We have already heard a sneak peek of his writing, and we are very excited to work with him and see what we can learn!

Year 6 Student profile

Hello my name is Alex Blay and I have been at St Margaret Mary’s since Kindergarten. I have always appreciated how small the school is because it means that I know students in every year.

My fondest memories at STMM would be the fun days such as the swimming or athletics carnivals and book week. I loved these fun days because they really were fun! We were able to dress up, run around with our friends and show off our unique personalities. With the help of our teachers, I have developed my skills in writing and many other subjects, which is something I will take with me when I go into high school next year.

Over the years I have loved the introduction of the Amadeus program and how we always practise regularly together as a band. I have always liked arriving early to school because I get to greet my friends before starting the day of learning. I will always remember how welcoming this school is and how much it has helped me over the years.
