Football

There were 15 teams representing SPC in grand finals this weekend, and I am very pleased to report that 11 of those teams won their games. Congratulations to the Fourth XI, 15A, 14A and 14D teams on reaching their grand final games, this is a fantastic achievement and I am sure that all involved learnt a lot from the experience. A huge congratulations to the 16A, 15B, 15C, 15D, 14C, 14D, 13A, 13B, 13C, 13E, and 13G teams for winning their grand finals and therefore becoming ISA champions! This is a testament to the talent but most importantly hard work of all involved. These memories will last a lifetime. Thank you to everybody involved in SPC Football this season.

Rugby

A tough end to a tough season, with all rugby teams travelling north to take on St Augustine’s last Saturday. While the majority of scores were not in our favour, there was an abundance of school pride and resilience on display. Well done to the 13A and 13C Rugby Teams who managed to both draw with very high-quality opposition. I must also mention the First and Second XV who despite going down to their opposition, both teams really tightened up in the second half demonstrating large amounts of resilience and pride in the SPC jersey, making the scorelines much more respectable than what could have been. These days happen with rugby, while it might be tough, there is a lot to learn, and I am sure that everyone will be back bigger than ever next season. Thank you to all who were involved in SPC Rugby in 2024.
