Senior Hoop Time

On Tuesday 30 July, five Senior Hoop Time teams headed to State Basketball Centre to compete at the Hoop Time tournament.  All five teams showed off the skills they had been training hard on over the past few weeks, and it all paid off with all five teams making it to the semi-finals! Congratulations to our Future Stars team, Solway Sparks, for winning in the Grand Final against one of our other Future Stars Teams, Solway Suns, to progress through to the next stage at Regionals!

Thank you to all the parent helpers for your support in the lead up, and on the day. To the parents who coached a team, supported as team manager, scored on the day, or supported as our cheer squad at the games – your help is always greatly appreciated! 

Junior Hoop Time

On Thursday 1 August, four Senior Hoop Time teams headed to Waverley Basketball Stadium to compete at Hoop Time.  Solway had another incredible day, with our teams displaying all their hard work and unbelievable basketball skills in every game they played! We had all four teams progress through to the semi-finals and ended the day with great success.  Congratulations to our All-Star Girls team and our Future Stars team, Solway Storm, who have progressed through to the next stage at Regionals!

Eastern Metropolitan Regional AFL Finals

After finishing the District Interschool Sport season as reigning champions, and an undefeated day at the Division Finals, our AFL Mixed team headed to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Finals on Monday 12 August. It was a tough competition and the whole team showed determination and teamwork throughout the whole day. With Toby bringing the energy, the team played with enthusiasm, seeing incredible defensive efforts from Jensen and Harry, and plenty of superstars in the forward line kicking goals!

The entire team should be so proud of their efforts, what an amazing achievement to be the first Solway AFL team to make it to Regional in a very long time! They all did Solway very proud!
