Out and About

Outdoor and Environmental Studies

Due to limited snow conditions and challenging weather in the forecast, the much anticipated overnight camp was modified to become a ski tour for the day. These VCE students took turns at leading the group, or staying at the back of the group to keep everyone together. Topics covered included vocation options in the outdoor and environmental industry, the local environment, and considerations for leading groups of people in the outdoors. The group managed to find a patch of snow just deep enough to build a table and bench seat to enjoy a warm drink and the view from. After skiing, hiking and digging everyone was satisfied with their day.

Victorian Interschools Snowsport Championships

We’re thrilled to share the fantastic achievements of our students at the recent competitions at Mount Buller. Four of our talented athletes, Lucy M, Evie A, Madox G, and Lexie G, took on the challenging conditions and performed exceptionally well. Rain, wind, heavy fog, and sunshine were all part of the conditions athletes faced while competing. Not to mention the lack of snow which added to the challenge. Regardless, there were smiles all around and wonderful camaraderie between the competitors. Madox's results include a spectacular double podium finish, earning Gold in Slopestyle and Bronze in Snowboard Cross. Lexie also shined with a Silver in Slopestyle. Both will be competing in the National Championships at Perisher in early September. Congratulations to all our students for their hard work and determination!
