School Saving Bonus

Families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. Paid in Term 4, 2024, it will help support families with education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks.

Actions for parents and carers

Before 18 October 2024, the Department of Education is asking parents and carers to:

• Complete enrolment: If your child, or children are changing to a different government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025. For more information, read about Enrolling in School. 
• Check your contact information: Ensure your email address and phone number is up to date on our files. You can check this information by contacting the school office directly.

Ensuring your contact information is up to date is necessary, as the Department of Education will email you twice:

• in October, to verify your email address
• in November, with your $400 School Saving Bonus.

Please check your junk mail regularly to make sure you do not miss an important email.

Progress Reports and Conferences

The Term 3 end of term (Week 8) Progress Reports will be opened to families for viewing in Compass next Friday, 6th September. These reports update families and students on the students’ learning behaviours in class. Progress Reports do not provide information about the content and development of a student’s learning over time. This information is provided in the end of semester Reports and at Conferences.

Conferences (formerly Parent Teacher interviews) are being held on Tuesday 17th September (in the last week of term) from 4.00 – 7.00pm, where teachers will be available for 10 minute meeting times to discuss your child’s learning progress so far this semester. Bookings will be open from Monday 9th September.

School Council

School Council will be held on Wednesday the 4th of September at 6pm in Room 9. All school community members are welcome to be observers of the proceedings. If you have any items to be raised to the Council, please pass them to a council member to be added to the agenda.

Recruitment

While we are currently fully staffed to cover all classes, we are still seeking some extra staff to fill other roles within the school. Please feel free to share this information with any suitable applicants.
