Principal's Message

Dear families 

Thank you for your amazing support for our students learning.  You play such an important role in helping your children be ready for learning.  At school council this term we have been unpacking how families and school can partner to support the engagement and learning of our kids directly and indirectly.  We are going to look at the yearly overview and start to strengthen the opportunities to volunteer and to fundraise for programs.  We have appreciated all the support given for mothers Day, fathers day and excursions so far.  

One way that would really support student learning is if there are parents/caregivers that have hobbies or expertise that they can share. We would like to get a list of opportunities that classes to call on when they are learning through their inquiry. Eg play chess, coach, willing to record books in own language, assist on excursions, working bee to set up resources, crochet/knit etc etc

The School council were also looking at ways to fundraise for programs and grounds that does not financially burden our families.  Sometimes there are so many things going on, it can be quite expensive.  If you have ideas or things that have worked before please let us know.  One suggestion has been a chocolate drive there may be other things that also have been successful.
