Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families
Shrek Junior Musical Production
Wow, our whole school production was truly spectacular! A heartfelt thank you to the whole Maramba school community on an outstanding performance! I am sure every audience member was in awe of the performance last Thursday night.
Well done to all staff, students and parents who have worked together on this production. Preparations have occurred throughout this term and I have witnessed the substantial commitment from all staff to ensure that children were prepared and ready for Thursday. On behalf of our school community, I extend my sincere thanks to each member of staff and our parents who have supported us in the lead up to this event. An achievement like this is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our entire team. I also want to give special mention to Ms Butler for her monumental contribution in making it an unforgettable experience!
Lastly and importantly, I congratulate our students, who dedicated themselves to rehearsals, learning their roles both at school and at home, to give us such a fantastic celebration. A production at any school is a wonderful event, but to deliver this so successfully after the challenges of the recent years is just another unique and wonderful aspect of our school.
Berwick District Athletics
On Friday, 6th September, a number of our students went to Casey Fields for the Berwick District Athletics Carnival. There was lots of laughter, excitement, and robust competition as our students competed in hurdles, long jump, shot put, discus, and relays. Congratulations to Iggy, Jack, and Kravitz for being successful in their respective events and qualifying for the Division Athletics! Thank you to Mr. Watling for organizing the event and to Mrs. Min Foley and Mrs. Pam Foley for encouraging students on the day.
Student Wellbeing - School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)
School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is the framework we are adopting at Maramba Primary School to foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
By implementing SWPBS, both teachers and students will benefit from:
We are in the process of developing our whole-school Behaviour Matrix, which will outline the behaviours expected of our students in alignment with our core values: resilience, responsibility, respect, and positive relationships.
The next step is to gather feedback from our families. We invite you to a session on Wednesday, 9th October, from 2:30-3:15 pm in the staffroom. This session will provide an opportunity to review what has been developed so far and to contribute with your input.
Together, we can build a positive school community at Maramba Primary School. Thank you for your support!
Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships
In Term 4, our staff will be introducing Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) as our school-wide social and emotional learning program. The RRRR curriculum includes eight key social and emotional learning topics for all primary education levels. These include:
Our staff has completed professional development to support the effective implementation of these materials.
Compass - Student Learning Management System
Next term, our school will transition from using XUNO to Compass!
This week staff completed professional learning around using Compass which will begin next term. Staff explored how to mark the roll, student absences and how to communicate with families.

School Hats
As the weather warms up and the sun comes out, it’s crucial to stay SunSmart. Protect your head by wearing a hat whenever you are outdoors. Ensure your hat provides shade for your face, neck, and ears.
