Wellbeing
In Term 3, the Wellbeing team got busy! Celebrating Wear It Purple Day and R U OK? Day were significant successes at Sunbury College.
Wear It Purple Day is dedicated to supporting and celebrating LGBTIQA+ youth. By wearing purple, we demonstrate our commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. Sunbury College displayed a vibrant sense of unity and respect, working together to promote a community where every student and staff member can feel valued and accepted. Students participated in brunch-time activities, promoting inclusiveness and respect while enjoying a number of fun activities. It was great to see so many of you involved!
R U OK? Day emphasises the importance of staying connected and engaging in conversations that can support individuals during challenging times. Sunbury College promoted R U OK? Day by encouraging students to ask "R U OK?" any day of the year, recognizing that a conversation can change a life. Students participated in a pancake breakfast, engaged in activities during connect lessons, and enjoyed fun activities during lunch. They were invited to write positive message notes, allowing them to enjoy a cookie or donut while getting creative with yellow hairspray or face paint. Additionally, staff participated in an R U OK? Day brunch, where they enjoyed sweets and coffee while having the opportunity to unwind and engage in meaningful conversations.
The Wellbeing team are looking forward to organising and promoting more days of significance throughout Term 4.
