Principal's Report

Yesterday, Emerson School had the privilege of celebrating an extraordinary milestone, 60 years in education for our Principal, John Mooney.

Staff gathered alongside John’s immediate family, including his wife Anne, children, and grandchildren, to honour his remarkable contribution to education in the state of Victoria. It was a warm and memorable occasion filled with appreciation, reflection and celebration of a career dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students and families.

We were delighted to share this special moment with many members of the Emerson School community. A heartfelt thank you must go to classes SSF and SSE, whose students and staff worked tirelessly to prepare an incredible selection of delicious sweet and savoury culinary delights for the event. Their efforts, enthusiasm and teamwork helped make the celebration truly special. We would like to acknowledge each student and staff member involved for their wonderful contribution and the pride they brought to the occasion.

John’s 60 years in Victorian education is a truly remarkable achievement. Throughout his career, he has shown unwavering dedication, compassion, leadership and commitment to supporting students past, present and future. His impact on the Emerson School community and the broader Victorian education community is immeasurable.

On behalf of the entire Emerson School community, we congratulate John on this outstanding milestone and thank him for the lasting difference he continues to make in the lives of so many.
