Our teachers have been collating student data from the semester across a range of forms, including formal tests, Reading Benchmarks, online tests, teacher observations, work samples, assignments, notes and so much more. The information collected along with the class teachers knowledge of the students will inform Semester 1 Reports.
In Week 11 you will have the opportunity to view your child's Semester 1 report accessible in digital form via the Compass Parent Portal. This will highlight their achievements, celebrate the strides they have made and outline future goals and next steps in their learning. We encourage you to take this opportunity to discuss your child's learning journey with them, acknowledging their efforts and looking forward to even more success in the second half of the year.
When you open your child's report, you will see curriculum headings for all KLA’s taught and specific A–E grading. The following Parent Power Up session is designed to peel back the administrative jargon, map out exactly what these learning benchmarks mean for each stage, and give you practical tools to talk about progress at home.
Understanding Semester Reports
Wednesday June 17 (Week 9) 2:50pm
A high-impact, 20-minute information session designed specifically for busy families. This ‘bite-sized’ workshop will provide families of K-6 children with a practical understanding of Semester Reports.
Well done Kindergarten, 2M, 4W and 4WL on their recent performance at the Inverell Town Hall. Many hours of practice went into rehearsals to present polished poetry and singing. Students represented themselves and our school proudly. A special shout out to 4WL who took out first place with their Choral Verse Speaking pieces.
Our Year 6 Mini Vinnies student leaders have been offering acts of service to our K-2 children. Some of the ways they have lent a hand include helping with skipping, organising soccer teams, watching and encouraging students at the play equipment area, helping them rake up the leaves, teaching new games and ball skills on the basketball court, and helping pack up toys and ropes. Acts of service go far beyond simply doing a good deed. When lending a hand to those around them, the compassion and character of Jesus is reflected in our everyday lives. Thanks Mrs Doyle and Mrs Wales for guiding our Mini Vinnies Leaders; our Infants children are enjoying the support.
The Heart Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart program encourages students to be active, have fun, and develop healthy lifestyle habits through skipping activities and fitness challenges. The program helps children improve their coordination, confidence, and overall fitness while promoting the importance of regular physical activity for heart health. As part of their participation, students also have the opportunity to raise funds to support lifesaving heart research and education, allowing them to make a positive contribution to the wider community while staying active and engaged. Register and create your own secure webpage at www.jumprope.org.au/parents. By signing up online, you and your child/ren can easily track skipping skill progress, earn virtual badges, post updates so family and friends can follow their journey, access additional skipping resources and raise funds. For more information, please visit www.jumprope.org.au/parents.

We ask that students avoid bringing toys to school unless specifically requested by their teacher. Toys can easily become a distraction during class time when in pockets, may get broken or lost, and can sometimes cause disagreements between students in the playground. If 3-6 students would like to bring something to play with during break times, a clearly named ball is welcome. Infants children have sports equipment available to use during breaks. We appreciate families supporting this expectation and helping students keep valuable or special toys safely at home.
ICAS English, Mathematics and Science Assessments are once again being offered and facilitated by us at Holy Trinity during August. Nominations are currently open. Students in Year 4 and above are eligible to enter.

Well done students and families. The children are wearing their winter uniform with pride. This week, we will be monitoring that all components of the uniform are being worn. Please remember to send in a note if for some reason your son or daughter is missing an element of the uniform, explaining when this will be rectified.
