Dear Families,

As we approach the conclusion of a busy and productive first semester at Holy Trinity School, our focus naturally turns to reflecting on the teaching and learning that takes place across our K–11 community every single day.

Learning in the classroom is the foundational key to success. We are incredibly proud of the vast majority of our students who arrive at school each morning truly ready to learn—well-rested, fueled by breakfast, on time, and equipped with all the requirements needed for the day. Behind the scenes, our dedicated teachers plan lessons to guide each individual student forward, strongly supported by our educational assistants who work to meet diverse learning needs in the classroom.

To protect this environment, we must address an important standard. We are currently working with a small number of students who continually interrupt the learning of others. This is behaviour that is not accepted at HTS. Our Rules for Living explicitly highlight the importance of being a learner and ensuring we do not prevent others from doing the same. Every child has the right to a distraction-free education, and we deeply appreciate your ongoing parental support in reinforcing these values at home.

Semester 1 Reports

The academic reporting process is a monumental task that takes our staff a number of weeks to complete. Our Year 11 reports have already been published, and our teaching teams are currently deep in the process of proofreading the K–10 Semester 1 Academic Progress Reports.

These reports are a comprehensive snapshot of the first half of the year, reflecting assessments that have taken place both formally and informally across the entire semester. When reading your child's report, you will find:

  • Outcome Achievement: Clear identification of the units of work covered and your child's tangible progress toward meeting those academic outcomes.
  • Work Habits & Reflection: A detailed look at classroom work habits and attitude toward study. We view these habits as just as important as the academic grades themselves, as they form the building blocks for lifelong learning.
  • A Forward Focus: Teachers do not just look backward; they explicitly reflect on "where to next" for your child’s learning journey.
  • New Secondary Pastoral Section: For our secondary families, you will notice a redesigned pastoral care section. This now highlights your child's active contributions to school life across a number of varied domains, celebrating the whole person.

Transitioning to Compass

In an effort to streamline communication and reduce our environmental footprint, we have made the change from printing hard-copy reports to releasing them digitally.

All K–10 reports will be published on Compass in Week 11. By housing these records digitally, families can easily locate, view, and look back on their children's academic progress in one secure, convenient spot whenever they are needed.

While the report provides an excellent summary of Semester 1, the conversation doesn't end there. There will be an opportunity in Term 3 for you to come in and formally discuss the report with your child's teachers.

Thank you for your partnership, your shared high expectations, and your commitment to making Holy Trinity School a thriving community of learners.

Winter Uniforms

Thank you to all our families who have ensured students are now wearing full winter uniform. I know the uniforms are costly, and I appreciate the commitment of our families to encourage students to wear their uniform with pride. I am happy to help any family in need of financial support with uniforms.  I also appreciate the wide network of second-hand uniforms and support within our community to maintain this fundamental aspect of our school. During my Kindergarten interviews, new families to our school often comment on the the positive impression our students wearing our uniform make in our community. It is one of our many pride points.

Uniform Support: Attached to this newsletter, you will find a flyer regarding custom-fitting uniforms. We recognise that opting for a custom-fitted uniform comes with an additional cost. Please know that I am more than happy to discreetly support any family that requires assistance with this service. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly if your family needs help.

Please reach out if I can help in anyway.
