Students and staff are very excited about the upcoming Year 7 camp in Narrabeen from March 20-22.
It is going to be a wonderful few days with a variety of outdoor activities that will give Year 7 the opportunity to make new friends, overcome challenges and have a lot of fun.
On Monday 11 March, a parent/student information evening will be held for all Year 7 students beginning at 6pm in the Carmody hall here at the College. During this time we will go through information regarding Year 7 assessment tasks, NAPLAN, Year 7 camp and Sacramental opportunities.
We look forward to meeting parents/carers and students on the evening of Monday, 11 March. If students could please accompany parents/carers in full summer uniform and please sit with their parents/carers.
A reminder to all students and parents that mobile phones are banned at school and must be off and in students' bags between 8.35am and 2.50pm.
In today's digital age, social media platforms like Snapchat have become integral parts of young people's lives. For many people, it's a fun way to stay connected with friends and share their daily moments. However, it's important to remember that with great connectivity comes great responsibility, especially for young users. A reminder that Snapchat's terms of service state that users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. I encourage all parents to have open conversations with their children about being on any social media applications and reporting any issues that they are not comfortable with. Snapchat has an in-app tool called Family Center, which provides parents and carers with insight into who their teens (13-17) are interacting with on Snapchat. Parents cannot access the content of their children's interactions, but they can report any accounts of concern. This Parent Guide to Snapchat is a great article for any parents who would like any extra information about the application.
I would also like to remind students and parents that it is important for consent to be given before any photos of people are shared in a group. If any of our students or parents are concerned about anything being shared online I would encourage you to report this to either snapchat or the esafety commissioner.
