Kindergarten and Year 5 Buddies

The Year 5 and Kindergarten students enjoyed meeting their Buddies this week!

Our Buddy Program is a very important part of our community being inclusive and connected. It helps the students develop strong bonds with each other.

Where is Maths?

Were you out driving in the car on the weekend? Did your children notice all the Maths around them? If they didn't, it's a great opportunity for conversations about shapes and numbers in street signs and traffic lights, straight and curved lines, parallel lines, angles and of course counting. Count buses, cars and motorbikes, are there more or less red cars than white? The possibilities are endless! I hope you find the parent and carer guides to support your child in Mathematics of interest.

Proud Moments in Yr 3

Yr 3 have been exploring arrays as a building block for multiplication and division. They were able to communicate their reasoning by explaining why some numbers were even or odd.

Portia and Charlotte proudly displayed the arrays they created during a wet lunchtime break. It's fabulous seeing these young Mathematicians thinking about Maths outside of the classroom.

Yr 4 Problem Solving

Look at all the justification in Hamish's response to a multi step word problem.
