How We Express Ourselves
Year 2 - Term 1 2024
Transdisciplinary Theme
'How we express ourselves'
Central Idea
Communication is influenced by feelings and emotions
As an International Baccalaureate world school, authorised to teach the Primary Year’s Programme, we explore six transdisciplinary themes each year.
The first unit the Year Two students will explore focuses on the various ways we communicate and express our ideas and emotions.
‘How we express ourselves’ works in partnership with and is complemented by ‘The Resilience Project’, which Year 2 students will be participating in throughout the year. Through The Resilience Project, Year 2 students will explore the values of Mindfulness, Gratitude and Empathy.
The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, providing practical, evidence-based, positive mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness.

Action
Action in the PYP is initiated independently by the student as a result of the learning process.
