The Grade 3 and 4 students have been studying the American artist Keith Haring, who is best known for his bright pop street style art. His style is easily recognisable as he uses thick black lines and bright block colours to create figures and creatures with expressive lines to show movement. Students practiced drawing figures in his style before choosing two to make into stencils. We used these stencils with the three primary colours to begin creating an artwork inspired by Haring’s work. Please enjoy these photos of Grade 3 printing their stencils with acrylic paint.
