Principal's Report

Dear families,

UR STRONG

It’s not too late to book in for the online URstrong session tonight. It is designed for both parents and their children. In 2023 we introduced the program across the whole school. Students in 2024 will participate in weekly lessons around URstrong. A vital component of the program is having parents being informed about the strategies being taught in the school. I strongly encourage you to attend this session.   Hopefully everyone will come away with some valuable strategies to around friendships.

HOCKEY CLINIC

Students across the school had the opportunity to participate in a Hook into Hockey clinic run by the Shepparton Hockey Association. These clinics reinforce skills learnt in previous clinics and expose other students to a sport they have not had the opportunity to play before. Fortunately, we had the community hall to use as the weather was not conducive to outside activities.

PARENTS AND FRIENDS CLUB

Our first meeting for 2024 will be next Wednesday 28th February. All new members are extremely welcome. Meeting will be held in the staff room at 7:00pm.

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Interviews will take place in Week 6. Please make sure you go onto XUNO and select a time suitable for you. There is the choice of a phone call or in person interview. March 1st is the last day for booking an interview.

POSITIVE HOME SCHOOL RELATIONSHIPS

A wealth of research indicates the powerful association between positive family engagement in learning and improved student learning and wellbeing outcomes. At Toolamba P.S we strive to build a strong and positive home school partnership. Below is a link to how you can support your child at home in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our first meeting for the year was on Monday night. Items on the agenda for the night were:

  • Out School Hours Care and our plans to have the school take over the running of the program in Term 2.
  • Annual Implementation Plan. This plan was presented to School Council and gained their approval.
  • 150 Year Celebration-plans so far.
  • Crossing point in Bridge Road. School Council recommended a letter be sent to the Shepparton Council expressing our concern about safety issues.

CROCKERY FROM BBQ

We have several bowls and containers left after the BBQ. If you are missing one it can be collected from the  front office.

LOST & FOUND

We have a few items in the office, including reading glasses, that have been found around the school.

Have a lovely weekend,

Regards Heather
