MPPS Student Values Awards ~ Term 3, Week 4
Students who have demonstrated our school values (Respect, Kindness, Gratitude) are selected from each cohort to receive an award certificate and our new Values wristband to wear to school each day. The students receive this award at a cohort assembly that is conducted twice per term.

Prep
Vaishnavi ~ Vaishnavi is a fantastic example of MPPS’s school value of respect. Even when things get chaotic in the classroom she makes sure she shows whole body listening and gives her teachers her full attention. She always makes sure to give everything a go and get involved in the classroom, even when new French words are hard to pronounce!! These traits are so important when learning a new language!!! Well done Vaishnavi! You should be proud of yourself!
Jon ~ Today we are celebrating a student who shows what respect looks like in our classroom every single day. Jon listens respectfully to others, whether it’s during group discussions, story time, or when someone is sharing their ideas. He follows teacher instructions straight away, showing that he values the learning environment and the people in it. Jon uses kind words and speaks to others with care. He’s always ready to lend a helping hand to his classmates and treats everyone with fairness and compassion. His manners shine through, saying “please,” “thank you,” and offering a smile to those around him. Not only is he respectful to people, but he is also a respectful and curious learner. He shows interest in new ideas, asks thoughtful questions, and tries his best in every task. We are lucky to have Jon as part of our classroom community. Well done and thank you for being such a fantastic role model!
Max ~ This award goes to a member of Prep A who consistently demonstrates our school value of kindness. Max is a thoughtful and compassionate student who is always looking out for others. Max consistently treats others with care and respect, showing genuine warmth and compassion. With his beautiful manners and respect for others, Max is a shining example of kindness in our school. Whether it is helping out a classmate, looking for ways to help a teacher or checking in on and cheering up his friends, Max is always looking for ways to help our MPPS community. Congratulations, Max! Thank you for being a shining example of our school values. We love having you in our class!
Maeve ~ Today, we are proud to present the Gratitude Award to a student who consistently shines, through her kind heart and thoughtful actions. Maeve shows gratitude in so many ways — not only by saying “please” and “thank you,” but by treating everyone around her with respect and care. She uses her manners every day, speaks kindly to others, and shows appreciation for her teachers and classmates. She follows instructions carefully and respectfully, showing that she values the time and effort others put into helping her learn. She always tries her very best, even when something is tricky, and her determination inspires those around her. This student also goes out of her way to care for our classroom. Whether it's helping to tidy up, looking after resources, or reminding others to take care too, she leads by example. She listens with her whole body, showing she values what others have to say.
Her actions remind us that gratitude is not just about words — it's about showing kindness, respect, and appreciation in everything we do. We are so lucky to have her in our class, and we are incredibly proud of all she brings to our learning community. Congratulations Maeve and thank you for being such a wonderful example of gratitude in action!
Year 1/2
Mackenzie ~ Congratulations Mackenzie, your kindness has been recognised as one of your super powers! You have been observed as a most thoughtful and generous friend to all and your warm smile lights up every room. Thank you for looking after our school and the people in it, your positive can-do attitude is inspiring for us all. I particularly enjoy your happy, caring nature and the way you check-in with others to see that they are okay. I also greatly appreciate your cheery greetings every morning and your thoughtful appreciation of our art sessions.
Elena ~ Elena shows her gratitude in lots of ways at school. Elena shows gratitude for being a part of MPPS by being so thoughtful, engaged and making the most of all of the opportunities at school. She regularly seeks challenges with her learning and is grateful for the opportunities provided for her to stretch her learning. Elena shows gratitude for her friends and classmates by thanking them and being so kind and respectful when she interacts with them. She approaches everything in class, in Specialist classes and during break times with a smile and joy that shows how grateful she is to be at MPPS each day. Elena also has a great sense of humour and loves a joke which makes her a joy to be with. Thank you, Elena, for showing us how to appreciate MPPS and one another.
Scarlett~ Scarlett Featherston exemplifies respect every day, treating classmates, teachers, and all members of our school community with kindness and fairness. Scarlett always uses outstanding manners, listens attentively when others are speaking, and follows our classroom and school expectations consistently. Scarlett respects our school environment by keeping shared spaces clean and taking care of classroom materials. She brings a love of learning into every lesson, showing careful listening and sharing thoughtful ideas. Scarlett tackles her schoolwork with dedication, always aiming to do her best and seeking out opportunities to challenge herself further. During group activities, she makes sure everyone has a chance to contribute and promotes equal involvement. Congratulations, Scarlett! Thank you for your outstanding example and for helping make our school a respectful and welcoming place.
Chloe ~ Chloe truly embodies the spirit of kindness within our school community. She consistently treats others with care and respect, always using her impeccable manners and showing genuine warmth and compassion. Chloe goes above and beyond to include others, ensuring no one feels left out and helping everyone feel welcome and valued. Her thoughtful nature and positive attitude make her an outstanding role model and a supportive friend to those around her. Congratulations, Chloe! Thank you for being such a shining example and for contributing to the kind and inclusive environment we’re so proud of at our school.
Eddy ~ Eddy has a warm and genuine way of showing gratitude that shines through in both his words and actions. He regularly expresses appreciation with a kind word, a smile, or a thoughtful gesture. Eddy consistently finds ways to express his gratitude in meaningful and sincere ways. Eddy shows deep respect for the school environment. He treats materials, classroom tools, and shared spaces with great care. Whether he is returning supplies neatly, cleaning up after himself without being asked, or helping to maintain a tidy learning area, Eddy demonstrates his appreciation for the opportunities and resources provided to him.
Eddy’s gratitude extends naturally to his relationships with others. He is thoughtful in how he interacts with his peers through always listening and celebrating the success of others. Eddy’s respectful and kind demeanour helps foster a classroom culture where everyone feels supported and valued.Eddy models what it means to be truly grateful—not just in words, but in the way he lives and learns each day. Alphonse ~ We're really happy to give this Gratitude Award to Alphonse! He’s always thankful for the help and support he gets from staff and peers, he never forgets to show it. His kind words and positive attitude brighten the day and make those around him feel appreciated. Thanks, Alphonse for reminding us how far a little gratitude can go!
Year 3/4
Layla ~ Layla is a shining example of kindness, inclusivity, and consistent effort in sport. She brings warmth and positivity to every session, always making others feel welcome and valued. Layla shows up each week with a smile and a readiness to give her best, regardless of the sport on offer. Her willingness to diversify and take on new challenges reflects both her open-mindedness and quiet determination. What truly sets Layla apart is her attitude. She approaches each lesson with genuine enthusiasm and finishes every session with gratitude, never failing to thank teachers for the opportunity to participate. Layla, your consistency, kindness, and thoughtful nature do not go unnoticed — you are a valued member of our sporting community.
Olivia ~ It is wonderful to have Olivia in our community as a positive role model for respect. She consistently listens attentively, follows instructions the first time, and speaks politely to teachers and classmates. Olivia shows respect by taking turns, using good manners, and treating school equipment and shared spaces with care.
Henry ~ Henry is a shining example of our MPPS School Value, Kindness. Whether it's offering a helping hand to a classmate, sharing words of encouragement, or including others in games and group activities, Henry consistently shows thoughtfulness and empathy in all he does. His gentle nature and genuine care for others create a warm and welcoming environment in the classroom, making him a role model for his peers. Henry leads with kindness every day.
Zoe ~ Zoe consistently demonstrates true gratitude in everything she undertakes. She openly and sincerely acknowledges the support and kindness extended to her, always with a bright and positive demeanour. From appreciating others’ generosity to noticing the smallest acts of kindness, Zoe’s grateful nature is evident in both her words and behaviour. She values the contributions of those around her, making her a compassionate and considerate member of the classroom community. Zoe’s unwavering gratitude serves as an inspiring example to her classmates, making her a well-deserving recipient of this award.
Year 5/6
Jack ~ Awarded to Jack Macdonald for consistently demonstrating gratitude, resilience and a genuine interest for Performing Arts. Jack approaches every lesson with a positive attitude and respect for the opportunity to participate, regardless of the activity. His exceptional attention to detail shines through in a range of learning situations to improve, especially during playing the recorder. Beyond his personal effort, Jack is a supportive and thoughtful peer, offering encouragement to help others grow. His actions foster a collaborative and uplifting learning environment for all. He always uses incredible manners, such as listening appropriately and waiting his turn, and leads the way in showing expected behaviours in the classroom. Congratulations Jack, you make the classroom and our school a better place just by being here!
Tom ~ Tom really loves and appreciates being a member of the rock band. As a result he goes above and beyond at rehearsals and events to ensure the success of everyone involved. His gratitude for being in the band prompts him to help with set up and pack up as well as problem solving and supporting others.
Matilda ~ Matilda’s kindness shines through her every choice and she truly demonstrates her heart of gold inside and outside the classroom. Matilda continually offers to help her teachers and peers and demonstrates a genuine compassion and care for those around her. Matilda’s ability to include others and interact positively with a wide range of students is a credit to her inclusiveness and empathy. You are a true year six role model, Matilda! We are lucky to have you at MPPS.
Maya ~ Maya consistently demonstrates the school value of respect. She is always polite in her interactions with both students and teachers, greeting others warmly with a friendly smile. Maya takes the time to ask how people are and shows genuine care and interest in their wellbeing. She shows respect for her own learning by always putting her best foot forward and trying her hardest. Recently, Maya has displayed outstanding leadership and initiative through her efforts in peer mediation. A fantastic role model for all – congratulations on being a highly respected member of the MPPS community, Maya!
