What's Happening At Milgate!

Acknowledgement of Country

Milgate Primary School would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land of the Wurundjeri People, and we would like to pay our respects to the elders both past and present. Staff, students and the school community understand that we thrive, learn and live on Wurundjeri Country and we stand with all cultures united as one.

Welcome to Marcus Wicher

We are excited to welcome Marcus Wicher, our new Principal, who will be joining us on Monday. Please join us in giving Marcus a warm welcome as he begins this new chapter with our school community.

Foundation 100 Days Celebration

On Thursday, our Foundation students celebrated their first 100 days of Primary School. To celebrate this fantastic occasion, students participated in a range of exciting activities throughout the day. Students came to school in their celebration clothes and enjoyed a breakfast together in the stadium. They completed an amazing 100 challenge with their Year 6 buddies and then feasted on pizza for lunch. They ended the day watching a movie! Happy 100 Days Foundation!

House Athletics

Our Year 3-6 students all participated in the House Athletics at the George Street Athletics track on Tuesday. The students enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities including relays, shot put, high jump, long jump and running races. Congratulations to Streeton who was the winning house. Well done to everyone for their participation and for supporting their house team. Thank you to Mr James Will and Mrs Emily Collins, teachers and the many parents and volunteers who assisted and went to support their children. A great day was had by all.

Community Games Afternoon

A reminder that next Thursday we are excited to invite families to our Community Games Afternoon 3:45pm-4:30 - a fun and informal event for students and parents to enjoy together.

Join us for activities including down ball, soccer, basketball, and more!

The event will take place on the blue basketball courts and synthetic soccer pitch.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Celebrating Student Learning

Two of our talented Year 5 authors have created powerful pieces of writing that tackle real-world problems with maturity and insight. Through carefully chosen words, thoughtful text placement, and impactful illustrations, their stories encourage readers to think deeply and feel inspired to act. As part of sharing their work, these young authors will be reading their stories to students during lunchtime. We are so proud of the creativity, voice, and purpose they have brought to this important unit.

Yearbook Advertising

Within our 2025 Milgate PS Yearbook we are offering local businesses an opportunity to purchase advertising space to promote their business.

Last year we sold and distributed 400 copies of our 2024 Yearbook to the families of Milgate PS. Our Yearbook is of the highest quality and it will be professionally produced.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure for your local business and support our wonderful school.

If you are interested in advertising your business in the 2025 Milgate PS Yearbook, please contact David Mander for further information on costing and specifications.
