Spotlight on Learning
Galilee Community
Dear Foundation Families,
It was so lovely to see all our students and families back after a restful two weeks. We loved hearing all the stories from the holidays which included visiting parks and even the snow!
This week we celebrated Milo's Birthday Surprise, with pyjamas and popcorn. We are very proud of our student's achievement in learning the first 26 sounds and are looking forward to seeing their learning over the next term.

Religious Education Focus
This week, we are beginning our focus on creation. Students will learn about the Indigenous creator Bunjil.
English Focus double consonants ss, ll, ff, gg
Now that we have finished Milo's Birthday Surprise we are going to move on to double constants. Next week we will learn, ss, ll, ff, and gg.
Mathematics Focus
We are learning to share and group numbers to 20 using different strategies. We will use objects, drawings, and number stories to help us make equal groups and understand how numbers can be shared. We will also understand "left-overs or remainders".
Social and Emotional Learning
We are exploring the concept of identity by talking about what we are good at and using affirmations.
Auslan Focus
Next week, we are learning action words. For example, close, open and pack up. We will also learn words like hat or jumper.

🎉 100 Days of School Celebration! 🎉On Friday the 1st of August, we will be celebrating 100 days of school!
To mark this special milestone, please come to school dressed as what you want to be when you grow up. We can’t wait to see all the amazing future doctors, builders, artists, scientists, and more!
Opening the doors foundation fundraiser 4th of August. Come to school wearing fun socks or shoes !

Reminders
No toys, stickers or pencil cases at school please. Students have everything they require for fun and learning supplied at school! If toys, stickers or other items are brought from home, teachers will remove the item and return it at the end of the day.
Please ensure you are packing your child brainfood each day!
