Trangia Cooking Experience
Year 10 Outdoor Education
The class undertook their first cooking experience in late July, using trangia stoves for the first time to cook pot noodles.
The students began the activity by learning how to set up the stoves, using different fuel types for the flame, and how to boil water using different cooking utensils. The students did well managing the fire, cleaning the pots and pans effectively at the conclusion, and all very much enjoyed eating the different-flavoured noodles.
The next step for students, having seen how the trangias work, is to plan their own meal to cook on the trangias as if they were cooking for themselves while camping.
The students were great to work with, and I’m excited to provide them with more outdoor experiences as the term progresses.
