Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
NAPLAN RESULTS - YEAR 3 AND 5 STUDENTS
This week, you received the NAPLAN results for your Year 3 and Year 5 students. These results provide valuable insights into your child's progress in literacy and numeracy. While NAPLAN is one of many assessments, it plays an important role in helping us understand how well students are performing relative to national standards.
We understand that you may have questions about your child's results, and we encourage you to raise these during your upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews next week. Our teachers are available to discuss your child's performance, identify strengths, and pinpoint any areas that may require further attention or support.
Key Points to Remember:
- NAPLAN is just one snapshot of your child's learning journey.
- Teachers will work with your child to ensure they continue to develop their skills.
- If you have any concerns or queries, Parent-Teacher Interviews are a great opportunity to address them.
We look forward to discussing these results with you and partnering together to ensure your child's continued growth and success. Should you have any immediate concerns before the interviews, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher.
YEAR 5 CAMP- SOVEREIGN HILL
What a wonderful experience our Year 5 students had at their camp to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat this week. The camp was a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in history and explore the fascinating world of the 1860s gold rush era.
The students were eager to learn as they took part in a variety of exciting activities. They tried their hand at gold panning, just as miners did during the gold rush, and had a great time discovering whether they could strike it rich! The 1860s Educational Experience brought history to life, offering students a chance to step back in time and experience the daily life of early colonists. The mine tours were a highlight for many, as they ventured deep into the earth to explore the original gold mines and learn about the hardships faced by miners of the past.
Another fun part of the camp was the chance to try some colonial shopping, where students had the opportunity to purchase goods from the 1860s and learn about the early days of commerce in Australia. It was a fantastic mix of learning, exploration, and fun.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the students for their fantastic behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the camp. They represented our school with respect, curiosity, and a real sense of adventure.
A special thank you goes to the amazing teachers and parents who attended and helped make this experience so memorable: Lidia Allen, Julie Versteegh, Ella Haugh, Tonya Ferguson, Clinton Brown, and Mark Mitchell. Your support and participation were invaluable, and we truly appreciate all that you did to ensure the success of the camp.
We hope this experience has sparked a love of history and adventure in our students, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to grow and learn from the memories they've made.
Thank you again for your ongoing support, and we can't wait to share more exciting adventures with you in the future.

ART-icle OF THE WEEK
Our students have been busy crafting some weird, wacky and wonderful tropical flowers for our upcoming school performance of The Jungle Book! Using paper cups as the base, they designed, cut and added the first vibrant coat of paint to their creations.
Did you know that according to Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man the average adult is about eight heads tall? Inspired by this fascinating fact, students have begun exploring how to sketch realistic body proportions and have taken on the tricky but fun challenge of drawing ears!
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SHORT TERM STAY
We are delighted to share that a group of international students from China have recently arrived and are now part of our school community for a short-term stay.
These students are immersing themselves in the Australian curriculum by participating in regular classes and engaging in a wide range of learning activities.
This cultural exchange enriches the experience for all students, fostering global awareness, understanding, and friendships that cross borders.
We warmly welcome our international visitors and look forward to the positive connections they will make during their time with us.
