Term 3 – Year 3-6 House Athletics Carnival:
Organisation is well under way for the year 3-6 House Athletics Carnival, which is coming up in week 3. In order for this event to run smoothly, we require the help of many parent volunteers, who have a working with children check. Please email laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au if you are able to assist on Friday 8th August.
Location: Yarra Ranges Athletics Track, Morrison Reserve, Mt. Evelyn.
Time: 9:00 – 2:30pm
Running Club:
Just a reminder that Running Club will continue this term on a Monday and Wednesday at 8:45am.
Location: Middle oval
Options: 1km run around the school with our house captains, and/or running laps on the middle oval running track.
This is a great opportunity for Prep-year 2 students to start preparing for their house cross country in Term 4.
State Cross Country:
Good luck to Chloe 6EP and Riley 4RB, who are competing at the Victorian Cross Country Championships today out at Yarra Glen Race Course. CHPS are cheering for you!

Library News
Welcome Back for Term 3. This term we will be celebrating Children’s Book Week from August 18 – 22. The theme this year is Book An Adventure and we will be having a whole school Dress Up Day on Monday 18th August where you can come dressed as one of your favourite book characters. You could create a costume using things you already have at home, find something in your wardrobe or recycle an old costume. If you need help thinking of a book character come and see Mrs Offer or myself in the library – we have lots of easy ideas!
Please make sure all students have a library bag so they can borrow from the library this term and check at home for any overdue books. Keep an eye out for Scholastic Book Club brochures as these will be handed out to students next week.
Smile Squad
Smile Squad is coming to Croydon Hills Primary School
Dear families,
The Smile Squad team from EACH are coming to our school from Thursday 7th August 2025.
Smile Squad is the Victorian Government free school dental program.
This means all students can get a free dental check-up, preventive services, and treatment at school.
How to access free dental care
We need your consent before we can provide services. Consent is usually provided by a parent or guardian.
Sign up to Smile Squad at: https://bit.ly/smilesquadvic
OR use the below QR code:
Please complete and submit the consent form, this will be sent directly to EACH.
Paper copies of the consent form are available. Please contact the school office if you would like to request one.
The electronic consent form can be translated into more than 100 languages, and the paper form is available in 13 languages.
Smile Squad dental packs
All children deserve a healthy smile, and the Smile Squad free school dental program is working hard to help make sure this happens.
Your child(ren) will soon receive a free dental pack to bring home. The dental pack contains a toothbrush, full sized toothpaste, and an oral health brochure.
Please take the time to read the brochure. It’s full of helpful hints and tips to help your whole family eat well, drink well and clean well – for life.
Smile Squad provides standard strength fluoride toothpaste that is generally used by ages six and over, unless recommended by a dental or trained health professional.
If your child is under six, please talk to a dental or trained health professional to find out if your child might benefit from using this toothpaste. You can also choose to put the toothpaste away until they turn six or give it to someone else in your family to use.
Do I need to attend my child’s appointment?
No, you do not need to attend your child’s appointment. You can attend if you would like to, and you can take your child to the community dental clinic if you prefer.
EACH Smile Squad look forward to seeing you soon.
Lost Property
I cant believe its already Term 3. A great start for lost items with minimal in the cupboard this morning.
Any child's items that where clearly marked have been returned to the classroom.
Attached are some items that we have not been able to put against a child and 3 pairs of glasses. These can be picked up from the lost property cupboard.
Remember to clearly mark all items sent to school with your child including clothing, containers and sports equipment.
Have a great term.
Thank you
Meagan & Fiona
