Principal Team Updates

Every Day Counts

At Assembly this Friday, our school will be promoting exemplary attendance to school this term. With the short term, and almost one week down, we invite families at home to also promote a feeling of pride in achievement of not unnecessarily missing a day of school!

Going to school every day is an important part of your child’s education. Children learn new things at school every day, connect with friends, have fun and develop good habits that help them to succeed. Attending and participating in school will help your child:

  • develop important skills and knowledge to help them learn
  • develop social and emotional skills such as good communication, resilience and team-work
  • establish friendships with peers which help develop self-esteem and a sense of belonging.

There is no good number of days for missing school. Being away from school for 1 day a fortnight adds up to missing 4 whole weeks of school a year. Where possible, you should avoid your child missing school, for example, make appointments for your child outside of school hours and keep family holidays to outside term time. Read more HERE.

If you are finding it challenging to get your child to school, please know wellbeing support is available. Please don’t hesitate to contact Jordan Tate if you would like this, or wish to discuss anything about absences.

Staffing Updates

All the best to Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning) Amy Prior and 2RT teacher Tayla Richards, who are both taking maternity leave from this week prior to the birth of each of their families' respective second children. We look forward to Amy and Tayla both returning in a part-time capacity in 2026.

Julie Reid, Assistant Principal (Wellbeing and Inclusion), will continue her Acting Principal role at Gladysdale Primary School whilst their substantive Principal takes ongoing leave. Jordan Tate will continue to lead student wellbeing for the school and its families.

A big welcome back also to teachers Jess Oakey (returning from Maternity Leave and joining the 2RT teaching team) and Robyn Twining (Term 2 Leave)!
