Learning and Teaching

Way to go, students!
We congratulate our wonderful students on all their hard work in their student-led learning conversations. They organised it all themselves! We were so impressed by how thoughtfully they reflected on their learning so far, celebrated their successes, and created their own goals for future growth. They also selected work samples they were proud of to share. Congratulations to all, and a sincere thank you to our families for supporting your child on their learning journey. What a wonderful partnership!
Foundation 100 Days of School - This Monday!
Would you believe our Foundation students have already been at school for 100 days!? We are so impressed with how quickly they’ve settled into everyday school life- learning routines and making new friends.
We invite all Foundation families to join the fun this Monday, 11th August, as we celebrate 100 days of learning for our youngest students. Students are encouraged to come dressed as if they are “100 years old” - get creative and have fun! See the poster below for more information.
Responsible Pet Ownership Program
This week our Year 3 and 4 students were very fortunate to participate in the Responsible Pet Ownership Education Program. The program teaches students how to interact safely and respectfully with dogs, recognise their emotions, respond to different situations, and understand the responsibilities of pet ownership, including care, housing, identification, and exercise. Our children loved having Prancer the dog at our school - he was born on Christmas Day and, just like his siblings, was named after one of Santa’s reindeer!

Marvellous Maths at St Peters
Over the last few years, we have had a clear focus on improving maths outcomes here at St Peter’s. So you can imagine how pleased Mrs Daujat and I were when we looked at the NAPLAN student growth data for our matched cohort - it showed our students have made significant progress over the two years from Year 3 to Year 5, even more than expected!
This is a real credit to our amazing Maths Leader, Mrs Danielle Moran, and to all of our dedicated teaching staff. We continue to build on our work with explicit instruction, especially in maths - and the results are showing it’s making a real difference.
I invite you to turn the page and read “Marvellous Maths” to see what our students are currently learning in maths at our school. Don't forget to log in to Seesaw!
