Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.
I encourage you, as always, to read each page of our newsletter. Each fortnight it celebrates our amazing school in so many different ways. It really demonstrates the living of our faith and values.
This week we joined in the FIRE Carrier initiative - Together we Walk- recognising the cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples. Please see this page of the newsletter for photos from the event.
We received NAPLAN results at the beginning of the term and have begun to analyse the data they provide. One measure we are very proud of is the growth shown by students in Maths who sat the test at St Peter's in Year 3 and Year 5. This growth not only celebrates their hard work but also the input of our Maths Leader Danielle Moran and all the staff over the last few years who have built their Maths knowledge and adopted new ways of teaching. We will share more as we dig deeper into the results.
Thank you to those parents who attended
these sessions on Thursday. I hope you found them valuable and felt proud of your children as they spoke about their learning, sharing their goals. It is important that students are empowered around their achievements and are given these opportunities to share the growth. For more, and some photos, see the Learning and Teaching page.
The annual Book Week is Monday 18- Friday 22 August. We will be holding our Book Week day Parade on Friday, 22 August where students are invited to dress up in support of this year's theme 'Book an Adventure'. We encourage students to get creative with resources already found at home to create a costume. Here are some photos from last years parade for inspiration!
School Closure Day
All staff will be off site attending a Faith Formation day on Friday 29 August.
Camp Australia is available to book if you require out of school hours care. Please book early - if there are not enough registrations, the service will be cancelled.
Art Show
We will be showcasing the Visual Art excellence of our students in our Art show, with an opening night at 5:30pm- 7:30pm on Tuesday 16 September.
Last day of Term 3 is Friday 19 September, with a 1pm finish.
Please put all these dates in your diary!
See the P&F page for another important 'save the date'- Special Person's afternoon tea!
