Learning and Curriculum Primary - Stage 3

The first 11 weeks of term have been jam-packed with events and opportunities for students to make many memories. It has been great to see learning taking place inside and outside the classroom and the friendships students have formed as they settle into their new class and school.
We are thrilled that both cohorts enjoyed the opportunity to attend camp to solidify bonds with their new peers in Year 5, and to consolidate the learning experiences in History for our Year 6 Canberra group.
Teachers have been working tirelessly to get to know their class and utilising a wide range of data sources to inform their planning and teaching programs. We hope that you have enjoyed reading the ‘Class Spotlight’ section and that this has acted as a catalyst for you to speak to your son about his learning.
Highlights of the Term:
Stage 3 Cross Country Carnival: A great community event. Congratulations again to Hanrahan house for winning overall.
Summer Co-curricular: Whether it be cultural or sporting, congratulations to all students for representing the College so well and building the necessary skills to participate in this program.
Year 5 Camp (Kincumber) and Year 6 Camp (Canberra): A massive undertaking but one we feel is essential to build both comradery, capacity and resilience in students. Thank you to all students for the way they engaged in these camps, both representing the College extremely well.
Class Learning: What students bring to the classroom each day is so important. Their organisation, commitment to the learning process and how they engage with the content and skills have been a delight to observe.
Years 5 and 10 Peer Support Program: Thank you to Year 5 for the way they have participated so far in the program. This is one way the boys are assisted in settling into College life.
College Events: Such as Opening Mass and High Achievers’ Assembly, Ash Wednesday Liturgy, Middle School Assemblies, Year Meetings all underpin our core business of teaching and learning.
We wish all families a safe and happy holiday break, and we remind you that Monday 28 April is a Staff Development Day, therefore, students return to school on Tuesday 29 April in their full Winter uniform. Blazers are to be worn to and from school.
