Grade 3 and 4

Welcome back to Term 2
Term 2 is very exciting. We have a busy term and look forward to every adventure together. The term started with settling back in for three days, where students got back into routine. In the first week back we acknowledged the ANZACs and shared in a rememberance assesmbly. Week Two saw us introduce Spellex, fraction work and a couple of special events in Cross Country and our Family Morning. The students have returned with a renewed sense of focus, pride and dedication to their learning. As it is a busy term, we continue to encourage the students to focus on learning and embrace everything that comes their way this term.
Cross Country
House Cross Country was a wonderful way to come together and connect as an ACPS community. As a school, we headed across the road to Warrandyte Reserve, where we warmed up and got ready for a couple of kilometres of running. Everyone is encouraged to give it a go and whilst it gets challenging towards the end of the run, everyone finished with a big smile on their face, knowing they had accomplished something great by giving it a go.
Family Morning
Thank you to all our friends and family for joining us for our Family Morning. The Grade 3/4 students, with the support of their loved ones, completed their Name in Fractions. This was a wonderful way to connect and launch our Fractions unit. The students are showing a sound knowledge of Fractions and can't wait to go into space with our Rocket Fractions. The students are astronauts and, through showing their learning and knowledge, will progress through the stages 'rockets' of fractions to see how far they can get. To finish our morning off, we were extremely proud of all the students who performed on stage in our band 'Muddy Puddles' and 'Seussical Jr'.
Year 4 Rockstar
At our special assembly, Isla took to the stage with confidence and flair, performing with the band Muddy Puddles dressed in sunglasses and leather. She completely captivated the audience with her energy and stage presence, keeping everyone entertained from start to finish. We were so proud to see her shine—what a memorable and inspiring performance!
Camp
Please see Compass for camp information and payment. The medical forms have been sent home, and we ask that you complete these as soon as possible. If your child has any dietary requirements, please email the classroom teacher. In a couple of weeks we will send packing and any last information to get ready for camp.
In the meantime, continue to share and talk about camp with your child.
Organise a couple of sleepovers with friends and family.
You can share the OEG (Outdoor Education Group) - Camp Jungai website with your child to get an idea of the types of things there and the surroundings - https://www.oeg.edu.au/camps/camp-jungai/ - Note: We do not do all the activities on the website.
