Teaching & Learning
at Berwick College
At Berwick College, we are dedicated to creating an effective learning environment that enables students to thrive. This term, our staff have been working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)—small teams focused on implementing targeted teaching strategies to improve specific learning outcomes. As part of this work, staff have been observing each other’s lessons to see these strategies in action, while our Leading teachers have been opening their classrooms each week to share best practices. Additionally, our Learning Specialists and Teaching staff have been working in partnerships and engaging with education consultant Cat Stephens to explore the latest research and apply evidence-based strategies that enhance learning and help check for understanding. This important work will continue into Term 2, with a focus on sharing key learnings across the broader staff.
Are students ready to learn?
To support this ongoing effort that staff have been working on, we encourage families to check in with their children to ensure they have all the necessary equipment for each class. The upcoming school holidays are a great time to restock supplies so students return ready to learn. You can find a list of required materials Booklists – Berwick College. Thank you for your support in helping us create a strong learning culture at Berwick College.
