Hi all

Last Friday, our year 6s played in the Chelsea District Summer Lightning Premierships.  We had 6 local schools competing for 9 premierships across 5 sports.  Whilst all of our teams finished in the top 3, only our bowls team won the grand final.  They will now progress to the Kingston Division finals.  Well done to Ms Barnhoorn and her team - Scarlett T, Cooper D, Marcus G, Miseal, Patrick L and Sam C.

CARWATHA CUP

Next Thursday we have around sixty Year 5 students travelling to Noble Park North for the Carwatha Cup.  It is an all day 7-a-side soccer tournament played against schools from all over the south east suburbs.  The students trialed for their sports last Monday with coloured bibs, assessment sheets asigned team s and plenty of enthusiasm.

We wish them all the best for the day.

TERM 2 LOCAL SPORT

In our local area, we are blessed to have many locally run sporting clubs that run entry level programs ran by dedicated volunteers.  For example, the Aspendale Arrows Netball Club run their NetSetGo throughout terms 1 and 2.  My own daughter started her netball career there as a 6 year old and is still playing today.  The club's tenets of Fun-Fitness-Friendship run true.  It is a brilliant junior club that caters for all.

Edithvale/Aspendale Junior Football Club run Auskick every year to prepare kids for ausssie rules games and we have two very good soccer clubs, Chelsea and Aspendale, in the area as well.
