Cultural Diversity Day

Celebrating Cultural Diversity at Mount View Primary School
Thankyou for celebrating our wonderfully diverse cultures at our school on Cultural Diversity Day 2025.
The students had such a wonderfully engaging assembly. We want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of these students, and parents involved in the performances. Thankyou so much. A quote from a student who performed such as, "It was so much fun to share my culture with everyone!" and from a member of the audience, "I learned so much about other cultures through these performances."
Teachers and students took part in different experiences throughout the day such as making a traditional vegemite sandwich (Preps) Australia, designing a Hawaiian garment-Hawaii, learning about First Nations oral story telling-Australia, Egyptian Hieroglyphics-Egypt, chalk drawing of symbols of the world, just to name a few.
It is such a special day and week where we all come together. Our cultural performances and learning about other countries of the world foster a sense of belonging, encourage international mindedness, help to promote understanding and respect for different cultures, and provide our students with opportunities to showcase their talents and heritage.
We are already looking forward to next year!
