Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and friends of Nazareth
This term has been a very successful and busy one.
We commenced the year welcoming 192 new Year 7 students and their families, together with 10 new students ranging from Years 8 to 12. Their transition has been seamless, and ‘Fabulous February’ has given them a solid foundation to succeed. Our Year 7 Reflection days and getting to know you activities have helped form meaningful friendships, vital when starting secondary education. The successful Year 7 camps further enhanced this. Our Year 7 staff members and Transition Coordinator showed exceptional care and oversaw an extensive program.
Our School of Excellence is always a fantastic resource for our students and families. It assists with fitness skills and allows likeminded students to gather and interact in their sport of interest.
All of our year levels have engaged positively throughout the term. I believe students are clear about the College's expectations, and I congratulate them on embracing and collaborating with their leaders and Nazareth staff members.
The highlight of this term has been our ’40 Year Opening Mass’ at St Patrick’s Cathedral. For many of our students, this was their first visit to the cathedral, and it was obvious that they were in awe of the enormity of the cathedral. Their reverence demonstrated this.
Our Year 9s also attended their camp this term as well as the Swimming Program. With the House Swimming Carnival and, this week, our Cross Country competition, NAPLAN, incursions and excursions, Nazareth has given our students opportunites to excel, try something new and build on their classroom learning. I thank the numerous staff that assist our students and offer time to allow these experiences to go ahead. Thanks to our NCCA Committee, who attend some events, getting to know our families whilst fundraising for the school.
I attended the combined schools SIS Performing Arts Evening Concert at The Drum Theatre this week. This was an outstanding showcase of young people’s talent. I thank our students and staff for their work in preparing for this concert.
Scholarships are now open for the 2026 school year. Please refer to the College webpage for further information. Alternatively please contact Ms Angie Palmer for further information.

Finally, I thank all parents for attending events the College has hosted this term, such as meet and greets, assemblies, masses, etc. Today and tomorrow, we have our Student Progress Meetings. I hope these will assist in outlining your child’s strengths and achievements and also means of improving in the coming terms.
Have a Safe and Holy Easter and may Christ’s resurrection bring Hope and Joy for the rest of the year.
God Bless.
Mr Sam Cosentino
