Principal's Press

Dear Parents/Carers

Please expect to hear more from me in an End of Term 1 letter to all families, including details of what’s ahead in Term 2 and an opportunity for your feedback and suggestions that will help shape the next steps in the College’s strategic and master plans.

Mufti-Day on Thursday 10 April – Gold Coin Donation

This Thursday, the College is running a mufti day as part of fundraising activities. Students participating in the mufti day are asked to bring a gold coin donation. Funds collected from Primary students will be used to sponsor a child attending Kurungu Christian Academy in Kenya as part of the College’s ongoing support for the mission work in Africa. Funds collected from Secondary students will contribute to additional outdoor seating for the Secondary playgrounds.

Students participating in the mufti day are expected to wear modest, safe and appropriate clothing for school. Specifically, please note the following:

  • No string tops, bare midriff, low necklines or low-worn pants/shorts
  • No short shorts or short skirts
  • No inappropriate images, logos or text on clothing
  • Safe, closed-in shoes are required – no thongs, heels, or ugg boots
  • Hair and jewellery as per usual guidelines.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Monday 28 April is a pupil free day at the College to enable parent-teacher interviews to occur. Bookings are now open for these interviews, and parents need to use the Compass portal or Compass app to make bookings. If you have any problems making a booking, please contact the College Office. Teachers are looking forward to sharing with you about how your child has been settling into class, their learning progress and discussing how to support your child for things ahead.

We strongly encourage all families to make it a priority to engage with teachers on this day, as it is through partnering together that we can help your child the best. Interviews will be available from 10 am until 6 pm.

TheirCare is running a vacation care day. If you will need care for your Primary or Preschool child on this day, please make a booking with them.

Winter Uniform

As the cooler weather has started to return, it is a reminder that winter uniform is about to kick off for Term 2. The first two weeks of Term 2 are a transition time, where students may wear either the winter or the summer uniform, but they may not mix and match.

Details of our winter uniform rules are on our website here. With the introduction of the College fleece jumper last year, there is a range of warm options available to students. Students may not wear non-uniform jumpers, hoodies, or jackets. To increase warmth on very cold days, students are encouraged to wear appropriate layers under their uniform, e.g. singlets or thermal underwear. Under layers should be plain coloured white or flesh-toned with no slogans or images. Students may not wear jumpers as an underlayer.

Students may wear College coloured beanies, scarves or gloves (navy blue or maroon) on especially cold days.
