Leadership

Congratulations to Josh and Rylee for the great success of the STEM Festival this week. There is a lot that goes into organising and preparing for this event and activities were chosen that profiled the engineering and coding aspects which students have been learning this term.
There are also activities that are selected purely for excitement and joy, such as the water rockets and billy carts. Thanks to all staff who ran and helped at stations (including the BBQ) and for everyone for turning out in support and making this annual event memorable.
Student leadership
We’re excited to launch our Year 6 leadership program this year with a range of formal positions on offer. This program is the result of a lot of planning and input from students about what leadership positions they thought we needed at TPS.
This week the Year 6 students received role descriptions and an outline of the process for selection and appointment to the positions. Students will submit expressions of interest as a way of nominating and then an election will be held for each position with students in Years 5 and 6 and teachers voting.
This process ties in really well with the civics and citizenship unit focus this term and provides a genuine context for their rich learning experiences. The leadership positions will be announced at assembly early next term.
Wishing everyone a great term and Easter break, and a reminder that school returns on Tuesday 22nd April.
