On Thursday, May 8th, almost 50 Grade 2 students (and their teachers!) arrived at school lugging pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, cuddly toys, mattresses, pyjamas and more, in readiness for the Grade 2 sleepover!
Once beds were set up for the night in the 1/2A and 1/2B classrooms, students armed with torches enjoyed running around the basketball court in the darkness, with the moon shining above, while others played and coloured in the 1/2C classroom.
After working up an appetite, the students were thrilled to see the pizza delivery driver arrive with the many, many pizzas for our dinner! Mrs. McAlister led students on a night walk around the school, before coming back inside for ice-cream and a craft activity.
When our teeth were brushed and pyjamas on, the Grade 2 students settled down to watch a movie together in the 1/2D classroom, before saying their "good nights" and bravely settling down to sleep in a room filled with their Grade 2 friends.
In the morning, we packed up our belongings and enjoyed breakfast in the BER together before the school day started!
Thank you to all students who attended - we were so impressed by your respectful, relaxed and resilient behaviour, which made this event so wonderful to be part of. Thank you also to the students' families, for your assistance in setting up and packing up your children's bedding and belongings.
(If you happen to discover any items at home that don't belong to your child, please pass them to your child's classroom teacher, as we are still on the hunt for a few missing items!)
P.S. Here a few bonus photos from the Grade 1 dinner:
