Matthew Kreuzer

AFL Coach

 

Matthew Kreuzer is a retired professional Australian Rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL. 

 

Drafted by Carlton with the first overall pick in the 2007 AFL Draft, Kreuzer had a distinguished career as a key ruck player, appearing in 151 games before retiring in 2020.

Currently, Kreuzer serves as the Ruck Coach for Carlton Football Club.

 

 At Ivanhoe Edge, he delivers specifically targeted drills and valuable insights into AFL-level techniques and set plays. His passion for mentoring young players drives him to help them achieve their best. 

 

Matthew's coaching approach emphasises building a positive rapport with his athletes, correcting and enhancing their techniques, and leveraging his expertise to develop and refine their skills. His dedication to the sport and commitment to the Ivanhoe Edge coaching team make him a valuable figure in nurturing emerging talent.

 

John McInerney

Volleyball Coach

 

John McInerney has had a distinguished career in volleyball both as a player and coach. As a player, he achieved notable success with State Junior and Senior titles, Aussie Junior and Senior representation, and was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder in the lead-up to the 2000 Olympic Games. He was also part of the Australian team squad preparing for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

 

In coaching, John has made a significant impact as the State Junior Coach and Senior Club Coach, leading his teams to three National Championships and six State Championships. 

 

Since 2005, he has served as the Head of Volleyball at Ivanhoe Grammar School and has been the Boys 1sts Coach, continuing to nurture talent and excel in the sport. His coaching approach provides opportunities for students to excel in volleyball.
